Description

Parque das Aves is a world-class bird park located in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, adjacent to the spectacular Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The park is dedicated exclusively to the conservation and display of birds, housing more than 1,500 individuals representing around 150 species within a beautifully landscaped 17-hectare Atlantic Forest setting. Visitors walk through large, free-flight aviaries that allow birds to move naturally in environments closely replicating their native habitats, creating one of the most immersive birdwatching experiences in the world. The park places particular emphasis on species native to the Atlantic Forest biome, one of the world’s most endangered ecosystems, and houses many rare and threatened birds including hyacinth macaws, harpy eagles, and toucans. Parque das Aves runs significant breeding and rehabilitation programmes, contributing to the recovery of endangered species and the release of birds back into the wild. Educational exhibits and guided experiences help visitors understand the ecological importance of birds and the pressures facing their habitats. Its combination of conservation purpose, natural setting, and unparalleled visitor access to wildlife makes Parque das Aves one of the finest bird parks in the world.
