Description
Grapeland Water Park is the only water park operated by the City of Miami, situated on 13 acres at 1550 NW 37th Avenue in the Grapeland Heights neighbourhood, close to Miami International Airport. The park was designed in collaboration with Miami pop artist Romero Britto, whose bold, colourful aesthetic is applied throughout the park’s signage, murals, sculptures, and architectural features, including a large octopus centrepiece and pirate ship structures. The park is organised around four primary zones. Captain’s Lagoon is a large heated recreational pool with a gradual beach-style entry and a maximum depth of six feet, suitable for all ages. The Buccaneer River Ride is a lazy river where guests float on inflatable inner tubes. Pirates Plunge is the high-speed slide area featuring multiple waterslides and a large interactive splash bucket. Shipwreck Island caters to younger children with smaller, gentler slides and shallow water features. Lifeguards are stationed throughout and life jackets are available. The park also offers swimming lessons for children and adults across multiple programmes. It is open seasonally with the 2025 season running from late May through August, and the 2026 season confirmed to open from 23 May 2026. Admission is $15 for Miami-Dade County residents and higher for non-residents. Contact is via [email protected].
