Le Cerisier
Description
Le Cerisier is a landmark fine dining address in Lille, holding a continuous Michelin star since 2021 and lauded for a creative approach to northern French produce that is technically demanding, visually striking, and consistently memorable. Located at 14 avenue du Peuple Belge on the edge of the historic centre near the Citadelle Vauban, the restaurant occupies the first floor of a striking contemporary building with an open kitchen visible from the dining room and generous natural light. Chef Guillaume Barengo, who trained at La Maison Lameloise, Lucas Carton, and Ledoyen, continues the restaurant’s strong tradition of a single fixed tasting menu built entirely around seasonal arrivals. Memorable preparations have included langoustine with cabbage and buckwheat watercress, morel mushroom with yellow wine and Comté, Quercy duck with red onion and beetroot, and a succession of house sauces and jus that are a defining hallmark of the kitchen’s identity. The menu is offered in three formats — Griotte for lunch, Amarelle for all services, and the prestige Burlat in the evening — each reflecting the depth and confidence of the kitchen. An intimate terrace, attentive service, and a well-curated wine list complete the experience. Open Wednesday through Sunday.
